My Ultimate Top 10

My Ultimate Top 10

Over the years I have been lucky enough to work with some of the best brands in the industry. Even during my days as a MAC girl (which was my dream job) I would often spend my breaks trawling the beauty hall to test out the competitors’ products. I am a self-confessed make up junkie, like a magpie I love all things sparkling and as a bridal makeup artist I value quality, long lasting products.

My kit is extensive as I have to ensure I can cater for all skins tones and types but there will always be those products that I turn to time and time again, my fail safes, my favourites, my go tos.

Mac strobe cream is a light hydrating cream that is super versatile and a great addition to any makeup bag. Use alone for a healthy, hydrated glow, mixed in with your favourite foundation for a radiant day look or lightly pressed on to the high points of your face after your chosen base for a subtle sheen.

Laura Mercier Eye Basics is an amazing eye primer that comes in a variety of shades to suit all skin tones. Apply a thin layer over the entire eyelid from lash line to brow bone to cover darkness and broken capillaries. This is also ideal for use under cream or powder eyeshadow to prevent creasing and ensure your makeup lasts all day long.

Nars Natural radiant Longwear foundation is my absolute favourite. I have tried so many foundations but for me this is the best. Now foundation is possibly the hardest product to recommend as there are so many variables but if you have dry/normal skin, want a healthy, hydrated finish and still desire a fuller coverage this may well be the one for you.

Laura Mercier Loose translucent powder is the best setting powder, super fine, fragrance free with zero sparkle. Press a small amount of product gently onto the skin with a powder puff or small sponge to set under eye concealer or mattify the T zone.

Chanel soleil tan de Chanel will give you the most beautiful natural bronze. Be aware a little goes a long way so use a fluffy rounded brush to buff this onto the forehead, cheek bones and jaw line for that skin kissed glow without a powdery flat finish.

Mac gigablack mascara has the finest wand I have come across and is perfect for catching even the smallest of lashes. For just £16.50 it won’t break bank but will leave your lashes perfectly lifted and defined.

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink lip colour now comes in a wide spectrum of beautiful shades from striking reds to natural pinks. It has a precision wand applicator which means you won’t need a separate lip pencil and its long wear formula is no exaggeration, this product really will stay put all day without drying out the lips. No air kisses required!

Mac Prolongwear concealer is always in my bag. This is a highly pigmented, cream concealer that will cover any blemish but is still thin enough to be used on the delicate under eye. The formula really does live up to its name and is super long wearing but a word of warning just be delicate with the pump dispenser, a little goes a long way!

Anastasia Beverly Hills water proof crème colour in Jet is the ultimate gel liner. Anyone that knows me will understand how important this product is to me as I have a long-standing love affair with a feline eye flick. This product has a great, dense cream consistency that does not drag and is the darkest, most intense black of all the many gel liners I have tried and tested over the years.

OK, so I know this isn’t actually a ‘makeup’ product but if you’re going to wear a full face then taking off your makeup is just as important as putting it on and at the end of a long day this is one of the most affective and soothing ways to remove it all without a trace. Massage all over the face and neck and then using a damp muslin wipe it all away. Your skin will feel soft, refreshed and squeaky clean.
